These are petty deals though, not like getting an iPad for $10 or something. But I guess the kickback on a 95 cent can of chicken broth is worth it if people order enough of them...

Also, staff know what is going on here. People will order knowing it's a mistake and then submit for a refund. So Amazon eats the cost, which they ultimately pass on to consumers by increasing prices or cutting prime benefits.

Exactly. If they deliver just one can, I'll just put it into the cupboard and not bother contesting it with Amazon.

Order several via S&S for delivery a few weeks out, then order one for free Prime delivery tomorrow. If it's just one can, cancel the S&S.

if amazon thought they could get away with increasing prices or cutting prime benefits, they would have done it already. they will lose business if they do either of those things
