"Four piece construction" means there is seam down the middle.

I mistakenly bought one like that cause it was cheap.

The seam means there is a non-flat discontinuity and the ball will not bounce true down the middle of the table.
If you have the means to transport this type of table yourself, go on FB marketplace or Craigslist or offerup. There are always tons of folks willing to give these away. I bought mine last year for $200 (it was two piece) and thought it was a great deal and then saw people putting up brand name tables for literally free or $25. The only issue is you have to be able to bring it home yourself. Two pieces tables are quite heavy.
I just put together the slightly smaller version of this table last night. The 4-piece means the table top comes in 4 separate pieces, so not only is there a gap between the two halves of the table (which allows for the table to be folded up), but there is also a seam down the middle of each half. If you line everything up correctly when assembling each half, the seam is pretty non-existent. If you don't make sure the pieces are tight together and aligned properly, then the seam could be an issue when playing. We've been playing all this morning and the seam down the middle hasn't even been noticeable. Overall, it's a nice table, and looks good. But it's on the cheaper side of the ping pong table spectrum, so it's not as solid when you bump it as more expensive tables would be. Still, we're happy with it.

Yeah, the table folds for single-player action or space-saving storage.

Of course it folds in half...is it split from left to right as well? It seems unlikely that the top is 4 pieces.

Reviews say it's a 4 piece and a slight lip is inevitable

I have this exact table. For recreational use and kids having fun it's a great table for the price. It does have a seam in the middle, but it's all about how you build it. Mines pretty even on the center line.

I'v seen this deal at Walmart and target since BF. the reviews are kinda mixed. major complaints are around build quality. I'm not sure how much it should be, but it looks like a solid home use pingpong table is usually 200-400

for anyone not happy about a split in the middle... how else are you going to put it away? These things take up a large portion of a room when they are full size.

Read the product description. Says "four piece construction." Just like the one I bought.

You might be able to re-enforce the seam with additional bracing to keep the pieces in line, but I've not tried that yet.

Disassembling the table is a lot of work for storage. You'll probably never take it out again.

Plus the screws tend to dig out the fiberboard and not be reliable when reinserted.

Count on ONLY just folding it up.

And split in the middle doesn't matter since that's where the net is anyway

It's 4 pieces of wood, not two. Split like a cross.

Got this exact table 2 years ago. Has held up well. Great starter table for the kiddos. The MD Sports customer service was really easy to work with to replace one of the plastic corner covers. They sent the replacement out immediately. Great value!
