The SOC code for the plan is MI30TI for taxes included plans (most people) and MI30TE for taxes excluded (those on plans like simple choice that don't include taxes).
I was personally able to sign up for this plan on a new account earlier today via T-Force on twitter (@tmobilehelp). I simply asked for the "Basic Mobile Internet 30GB Plan". I also had a spare SIM card laying around that they were able to activate immediately, and they kindly waived the activation fee (called "DCC" or "Device Connection Charge"). YMMV on if they're able to waive that fee though.
Also, if you ever did the T-Mobile "free trial" that came with the free hotspot to use, that device will technically work for this plan, but you won't have 5G since it's an LTE modem.

similarly, i currently have a tablet line with t-mobile. i popped that sim card into a phone, and it still connects to the network (internet usage), just complain (and won't work) if i try to call or text anyone.
This will allow me to use the plan without a VPN, so I can watch hulu.

1. Monthly $10- 30 GB Data plan - With Auto pay. from 12/2 Either DEBIT Card or Bank Acct only qualifies for Auto Pay.
2. CS was kind enough to waived off $35 activation fee. Just state one of your friend got this and recommended TMO and you are now calling. Seems TMO can waive off activation if you have Costco Membership ID , if that works for you. If not just put a kind request , and they may do it too.
3. I placed my sim card in 5G capable phone and it works faster than the HotSpot device.
4. Data in Canada, Mexico & 215 other countries (with reduced speeds allowed). see plan details below. search on TMO website for details.
5. TMO Tuesday are applicable. -- Confirmed . I signed up for TMO Tuesdays. Tip: Try to insert the sim card in a mobile when registering to receive text message.
6. Ordered Franklin T10 Mobile Hotspot device (free with 24 month credits) - Sales tax $5.96(per ur state): Be mindful of the contract and SSN as its credits. ** I wont recommend this and purchase one on eBay or if you want to use on existing 4G/5G hotspot capable mobiles ** (Moved this to #6)
Pro tips:-
1. I won't recommend getting TMO hotspot rather get one from eBay as you don't need to enter 24 month contract for TMO for free device which needs SSN.
2. TMO is expecting the SIM card to be used on iPads etc , so don't mention where you will use it but rather just ask for SIM card and say you are planning to purchase Hotspot from ebay
3. Call on Saturday/Sunday Mornings if possible, CS is mostly doing Activation fee waiver before even we ask, but ensure its taken care of. Tried one on Weekday and they are only ready to give you acct credit, called back on weekend mornings and they waived off.
4. If you get a SIM and dont want to use for short-term or pause , they can hold with $5 monthly hold fee (for 3 months).. May not be a good option as it just save $5 , but there it is. You just don't know when this offer will be taken away.
5. Login to your acct to confirm $10 auto pay. If you see $15 , then you may not be using DEBIT /Bank Acct. Change it to DEBIT/Bank Acct. ALSO , call CS to get $5 waived off. I did the same and it worked for me.

Got it - 3 lines at $10 with autopay. The number you provided worked; but they said they couldn't waive the activation charge of $35, but stores might be able to to.
Went into a T-mo store but they also couldn't waive; they suggested I go to their kiosk at Costco (apparently activations through Costco are waived). 15 minutes later walked out with 3 activated sims / lines with no upfront charge; didn't need IMEI or any other detail other than personal id.
They do require proof of Costco membership (your Costco membership number).
