From what I can find, it gets pretty good reviews. Lots of plusses to the features. Virtually stupid cheap for that price. Almost worth it to buy just for the tubes. Sure, why not get another 100 watt head.

This is one hell of a deal, but also at 100W you might have a tough time setting the volume at home without an attenuator of some kind. Even my 30W/40W amps are usually set at the lowest level they can go to keep them at bedroom levels. Definitely not a beginner amp, but not a bad way to dip your toes into tube amps if you have a cab already.

a 100 watt tube head at this price. i bought it...
Anybody know if this amp circuit is a copy of another amp or is it an original design?
Not that I know of. There are few reviews out there, and all I could find were pretty amateur.
One problem being Monoprice is they are not a brand carried by music stores so they are not out there being reviewed as much. I bought one "just because". So I'll find out for myself. I'll still have my Marshalls and Fenders regardless.

I have the 15w SR monoprice which is awesome! I read somewhere that it is a copy of a Fender circuit and thats why it sounds so good, so I assumed this 100w amp is a copy of some other popular amp. Let me know how it sounds compared to your Marshalls. Im really curious now
Just an FYI, and I can't state how accurate this info is but it is shown to be correct when side by side comparisons are made with the schematics, and also from what I've read on numerous online forums with people that have done the same and know far more than I do but apparently all of the Stage Right amps are licensed exact copies of various Laney amplifier circuits.

I received this head 2 days ago but haven't opened it yet. probably try it out tonight. I also have a Marshall dsl 100hr tube amp head... be interesting to see how it compares.

Mine didn't come with a foot switch to change channels did yours?
