I think something has changed with the Amazon student accounts in the last few years(?). This is to compete with tesla. Car manufacturers can't compete with the dealership model. Dealerships are scumbags that overpriced water if they could. Amazon has the delivery infrastructure already as long as price gouging isn't a thing. The consumer wins with this.
