I live in Nebraska and, yes, it's very reputable. I checked Denon's website for you and they have NFM listed as an authorized seller within 25 miles.

im at the submit order portion for $889 delivery on 01.04.24 but am hesitant to go over the fence, thinking this might be overkill for my puny 5.1 klipsch rp system... or maybe get a better fit with the $629 onkyo nr7100?

Depends what your feature priorities are.

I would suggest looking for used with features you need with a 5.1., save much more that way.

On these high price gadgets I prefer to directly pay with a card which provides free extended warranty like the chase freedom or Capital one venture. In this case the warranty will extend from 3 to 4 years.
I feel it's better to forego the 2-3% for that benefit. And for me I anyway used up the full chase 5% between Walmart + grocery and Costco this quarter.
