  • PRS SE Standard 24 faithfully recreates the foundational design of the Custom 24, PRS's flagship model, with all-mahogany body construction. This guitar features classic PRS appointments, including a 24-fret maple neck, rosewood fretboard with bird inlays, 85/15 "S" pickups, and the PRS patented molded tremolo, resulting in a guitar that handles well and sounds as good plugged straight into an amp as it does run through a pedal board.

I've bought open box from them that were brand new factory sealed. I've also bought "used" that had been opened but appeared factory new (all hang tags and case candy included). I've gotten several guitars from them (4 or 5) and they have all been great.
I bought 2 Open Box guitars from them, and they were factory sealed. Not a single flaw or finger print on them. Not sure how they are pulling off these low prices, but they got my business!
I've bought a bunch (5+) guitars from PAS. You might need to look hard, but most/all of the guitars I have from them do have some type of blem or minor defect that kicked them out of 1st quality status.

1) EVH Wolfgang -- small neck pocket crack in the wood.
2) Squier tele Contemporary - finish cracks around the neck plate
3) squier classic vibes (Pbass, tele, & strat) odd coloring on the vintage white (pink like), poorly cut nuts, and a few high frets.

That said, the prices are fair for what you get. I've been satisfied with all my purchases and have never sent one back. If you demand perfection (and most guitarist do), go to Sweetwater and pay the premium price to get 100% peace of mind.

I treat PAS like a Craigslist transaction that accepts credit cards and delivers to my front door -- no more cash-only, dark-alley transactions late at night...
