If you don't like the music, what part of it don't you like? Jerry was a pretty damn good guitar player for his style, and Bob was/is an amazing rhythm guitar which paved the way for Jerry to go into some amazing spaces.
This style of music isn't for everyone, and I get that. There are bands I don't like, but I respect it. I respect the work put into it, and I usually can agree with a couple elements of the band. The thing with Grateful Dead, and a lot of jam bands, once you get it and you are in….you get it. There's no going back to your radio crap.
Even if the band or the culture and it is objectionable to you, consider that they were good musicians that captured a really difficult skill in their jamming. Think about it. You have to be able to communicate to each other when you want to flourish, when you are done, etc. All non verbally since you're playing music really loud.
Ask a good jazz musician about it. It's really challenging and I respect that aspect of the Dead an awful lot. They were really well connected people who were also incredibly connected and loving of their fan base.
But here we are again trying to logically argue back against the increasingly prevalent hate mongers.
New tactic.. if you don't like the Dead then get your snowflake ass the fark out of this thread. I don't like the Dead but I will defend their right to freely express themselves respectfully. If you can't be respectful then just fark right off.

And only audience recording remained. Did this revert back?
