for anyone looking for a cheaper Gen 2, check eBay. scores of people with Pixel 8s got them for free want to cash in. i got mine, new, for $256, nearly $100 off.
also I understand the battery life is somewhat short. but to those who can't make it through a day, try not putting the poor thing on maximum volume, brightness, and vibration for all 300 of the TikTok pings you're getting each day.
I have the 2nd gen...battery hardly lasts a day so I figure the 1st is even worse
For 250 for the LTE I would pass
i have 2nd gen and the battery is pretty good and i am using always on display after using it for 6hrs i still had 85% of course if u use to track run then it will use the battery alot which is to be expected.
even when i run it easily lasts well into the next day
u can turn on sleep mode for sleep tracking at night then it only uses 5% over night
and gives the same data metrics like $1200 garmins altho that can run forever and has bigger screen but u get everything and more
there is a lot of AI to detect stress and alot more is dropping in jan with fitbit labs which will use AI to help u with ur runs and recovery I can see google being able to detect a migraine b4 it happens in 1-2yrs detect any disease . its all about health and fitness and FITbit is the big thing.
one yr after getting into watches google is already the best in usings ur fitness data however with the expensive garmin u can see all the data on the watch while PW2 u better use the app since the screen is small and not so good
i have had many wearos watches yet this is so different i didnt expect so much health and fitness so happy.
u can get the health and fitness features on the fitbit charge 6 which has 7days battery but horrible gps but u always carry a phone gps always defaults to the phone.. however fitbit labs will first only launch on p8pro with pw2 initially

Weird, I got the Pixel Watch 2 with my phone and while I don't wear it a ton, when I do wear it the watch generally lasts around 36 hours before it's totally dead.

I have the LTE.. could be the signal search that kills it but it's supposed to revert to Bluetooth everytime it's close to the phone.. which in my case is like 100%
I am just not impressed for the money I paid. I have Apple watches in my household and they blow it out of the water

Mine is the LTE as well, but my friend also got one with his P8P and has said he didn't think the battery life was great. I'm happy with it but I'm not very into smart watches, so we likely just have different expectations/use cases.
Is anyone using 2nd Gen? How accurate are the steps, heartbeat, and floor counting on Google Watch? I know battery life wouldn't be great, but I don't think it would be worse than Samsung watches.
