The Fibrox is also a great workhorse knife, it's a stamped knife that is perhaps a little more agile and flexible. Your trade-off for this is the steel is not as hard, therefore edge retention is not the greatest and you will find yourself sharpening the Fibrox more often.

This knife should not need sharpening that often unless you use it in the garage to cut steel belted tires. Just honing every dozen uses or so. I have had the 10" Wustolf classic for nearly 20 years and have yet to sharpen it.

I have given this exact knife, whether standalone or in the 8-piece kit to everyone whom I find myself cooking in their kitchen frequently.

It is thick, but it does protect from being cut by the back corner of the blade.

That said, blades like this with a bolster that extends to the cutting edge are aggravating.

BBB has it for the same price plus 10% off for repeat customers or 12% off for new customers.

This has been the normal "sale" price for some time now. It's a good knife and a good company, just don't think you're getting an amazing deal

edit: just check the price history on your price checker of choice

That's one thick bolster. FYI if you do your own sharpening or don't want to squish your foods while using the whole length of the blade to cut things.

It's not so bad. The pull through sharpener still works. LMAO

How does this compare to the Victorinox Fibrox that you can usually find around $40?

Highly recommend holding these in store if possible. I tried them and will be returning even though blade may be decent the overall feel is pretty cheap

Picked up last night on Bed Bath and Beyond thanks to this thread. 20% off for email signup, and also there was 10% cashback from a site I guess you can't mention here.

I've been using this knife for years but without proper maintenance. Lately it's gotten a little dull so I finally sharpened it the other day. I noticed some small chips in the blade so now I'm debating whether to get it properly sharpened and refinish the edge or just start new.
