How does this compare to MSI Cyborg Gaming Laptop - 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13620H - GeForce RTX 4050 - 144HZ 1080p Costco Item 1009774? https://www.costco.com/.product.1...ue&nf=true It will be the same price starting this weekend.

Every MSI that's been a deal, has an atrocious display. This Acer is much better. Plus the Cyborg has a low power GPU and will be slower than other 4050s. I think the Nitro is full power. See if you can find tests to verify, but I definitely wouldn't get the Cyborg. And I own a MSI and like it.

I've owned 2 msi gaming laptops and their plastic cases have really flimpsy hinges. Broke broke of them ....one was repaired under 1 yr warranty and the other had to be fixed by a local laptop repair place.

I'd rather try Acer and at least in this case, it's from Costco so free 2 yr warranty.

I saw the MSI deal when I was in the Costco store last week. The Acer one seems better in my opinion due the the following reasons:
  • Larger hard drive: 1TB vs. 512 GB
  • Higher display refresh rate: 165 Hz vs. 144 Hz
  • Better brand reputation

Thanks all! I pulled the trigger on th Acer. I think my son will like it. Update: My 17yo LOVES it!
