I bought the standard version for full price and finished at least the main story. For my attention span and "adult" responsibilities as of late, I enjoyed it and it didn't take very long to finish (the main story) as least compared to other meatier games like Odyssey and Valhalla which I haven't finished yet.

It was what I wanted. A Creed game that wouldn't take too long and I didn't feel pressured or bogged down by having to do any of the sidequests. I think I actually skipped them all and it didn't hinder me or make the final boss a chore. I think I liked Origin's character and story more and it was interesting playing in Arabic audio. Do I think it was worth $60? Maybe not but $40 for deluxe or $35 launch, I'd bite.

If it's anything, just a casual Creed fan here. I could see a long term fan being more critical of the game.

If you still have amex 40 percent off brings it down to $24. I rarely play games but was a big fan of assassin's creed. Is this worth it.

Does this play like the older AC games, or is this closer to the Origins/Odyssey/Ragnorok trilogy? Specifically, is it a giant, grindy, mostly empty, open-world mess with repetitive cookie-cutter activities, or is there an actual, designed game here?
It plays like the older AC games, but it's still fairly repetitive. Kinda reminds me of the repetitiveness of AC1. I'm about 10 hours in, I signed up for Ubisoft+ but I'm not going to renew to finish the game.

somewhat annoyingly had to google what the launch edition differences were; annoyed that the deluxe doesn't include them (unclear whether it's an amazon exclusive here in the states), but since i'm not big on cosmetics, physical stuff seems to be the way to go Smilie thanks, op!

I would just wait, Ubisoft games seem to drop in price very quickly.

It'll be $10-$15 or cheaper after 8 months. Sometimes Target have a sale: buy the game & get the gift card. If you price match with bestbuy or amazon you end up get the game for free.

I love these for the immersion. Exploring the various lands in the various editions is just so satisfying to me. I know they're not historically accurate, but I haven't seen any other game that comes even close to what the Creeds deliver in that respect. I'll pick this up eventually, looking forward to the middle east atmosphere/music/etc.

I doubt that. Valhalla has been out for over 2 years now and hasn't even hit a sub-$20 price point yet for the Complete Edition yet.
