I agree, it sucks, but it's not all that hard. Get a large personal-item sized backup from Amazon and you should be able to back a week's worth of clothing in it (assuming your visiting a warm weather place). Use toiletries from the hotel and crap any other small things you might need from a store once you're there.

beats me. That's impossible. No idea why this would fit the general public. This most likely is for business people that just go for one day. I thought it was a good deal until I see " These are basic economy fares, a restricted-type fare that only allow a personal item. There is no seat selection, no carry-on bag and no change. "

That's the result when airline owns Congress. Imagine if taxi, Uber, or Lyft starts charging passengers for carry on bag or luggage.

Are there flights from SFO to Hawaii with stops? Where would they stop between them?

We have the Chase United Mileage Plus card which allows for one carry-on per person even with Basic Economy. We've been able to travel all over with an infant, including all the way to South Africa.

You don't need bulky clothes for Hawaii.

Some of us get 3 free check in bags per person regardless of what fare type we buy 😁

The good news with these fares though is they drive SW down if you need free luggage.

Can you divulge your secret for united BE and 3 free checked bags? I just booked 2 united flights and BE would have been almost $100 cheaper on each one. (I booked regular econ to earn miles and have seat selection, not for the bags).

But you don't earn miles/status/pqp and also can not select seats or eligible for upgrades with BE, correct?
