For the record works with veteran discount, too, not just EDU.
Streaming TV and USB-C are two separate things on the monitor. It has the Tizen OS for streaming and USB-C is just an input. Really bad wording on the Samsung site. Makes it sound like it comes with a USB-C stick like FireTV. It also has SmartThings built in.

So it's a poor monitor?… looking for new monitor for our home office. Love the size don't know about specs…
I wanted a tv for my studio. This monitor resolved the need as it works as a smart tv for streaming plus being a monitor for my laptop. Image is crisp and clear. It really fits my needs.

There's no network jack and the specs didn't seem to say anything about Wi-Fi. How do the smart apps get connectivity?

Also buried in the specs is that it does 65w USBC charging.
Amusingly they show having two windows in the screen as a feature.

I got the Samsung 32" M70B earlier this year and I'm very happy with it. Link [samsung.com]
Not sure how it compares to this 27" being that it's an M70C.
Anyone know the difference?
I'm not sure if the B/C is a different panel (or some other quality difference) or just the next year's model?

I mounted it in portrait mode and connected it to my MacBook Pro M2 (via USB-C) and it's great (although a little too big). It is mounted to the left, so it's not my primary monitor, but it always looks nice.

I'm eyeing this to replace another one that I have that doesn't have a mounting bracket (actually, I'd probably swap this with the 32" and then swap the 32" with my older 28" Samsung 4k).

I wouldn't say this is a bad deal. I think it's a good price. But I can't say I would jump for it. It is a 4K monitor with USB-C charging. It has smart TV functionality. It looks nice. That said, it's a VA panel (not surprising since this is more TV focused), it's 60Hz and it uses Bixby or Alexa (meh to both). So I don't think I'd want to do any serious gaming on it and the voice assistants I would not use. But that's just me.

If you're a gamer, for a few dollars more, you could purchase a 27" 1440 or even a 4K IPS monitor and stick a Google Chromecast 4K on it and get most of the same or better functionality with a nicer (IMO) screen. But probably no USB-C charging (maybe on a 1440P unit).

This would be a bad-ass little monitor if you use an Android phone though, especially a Samsung. Between Dex and some retro gaming.... yeah, you could have a lot of fun with this. Again, not bad at all.

My company provides those screens for Work from Home equipment. Overall, I was not satisfied with the quality of the panel, and went back to a basic Dell IPS panel (not the gaming ones). Specifically, I didn't like the colors versus the IPS panels, creating device profiles and switching between them were a pain (the monitor didn't recognize devices). Overall, I would not recommend.

I agree and Samsung integration with its products is pretty thoughtful. It really depends on a person's devices and their specific use case.

I have a smaller room 12x12'. Ive been looking for something that could double as a monitor for my mac (as a 2nd screen) and a tv. Only gaming i would partake is may a few basic steam games like fall guys etc. Any reason this would not work?
