For the record works with veteran discount, too, not just EDU.
Streaming TV and USB-C are two separate things on the monitor. It has the Tizen OS for streaming and USB-C is just an input. Really bad wording on the Samsung site. Makes it sound like it comes with a USB-C stick like FireTV. It also has SmartThings built in.

I got the Samsung 32" M70B earlier this year and I'm very happy with it. Link [samsung.com]
Not sure how it compares to this 27" being that it's an M70C.
Anyone know the difference?
I'm not sure if the B/C is a different panel (or some other quality difference) or just the next year's model?

I mounted it in portrait mode and connected it to my MacBook Pro M2 (via USB-C) and it's great (although a little too big). It is mounted to the left, so it's not my primary monitor, but it always looks nice.

I'm eyeing this to replace another one that I have that doesn't have a mounting bracket (actually, I'd probably swap this with the 32" and then swap the 32" with my older 28" Samsung 4k).
M70C has a better stand, higher pixel density, and improved picture quality.

Last time I got the 32" at the EDU price plus an additional $30 off from chat, making it $162.

Tried for something this time, but no luck.

Did anyone have any success this time around with additional discounts?

My company provides those screens for Work from Home equipment. Overall, I was not satisfied with the quality of the panel, and went back to a basic Dell IPS panel (not the gaming ones). Specifically, I didn't like the colors versus the IPS panels, creating device profiles and switching between them were a pain (the monitor didn't recognize devices). Overall, I would not recommend.
I am not sure who keeps perpetuating that IPS panels produce better colors. It's contrast and bit depth that do that. VA wins hand's down on contrast.

The 27" M70C has better pixel density. Identical between the 32" B and C.

I wanted a tv for my studio. This monitor resolved the need as it works as a smart tv for streaming plus being a monitor for my laptop. Image is crisp and clear. It really fits my needs.
It isn't the picture, it is the stupid smart features they keep putting in these things. If you get more than one, the remote shuts all monitors off at once, even if you don't want it to. It also flakes out because Tizen is an unstable wreck.

Its 2024 and they still sell this trash VA panel
Smh!!!
VA panels offer better black levels than IPS. I have the 32-in version of this and I do occasionally watch video on it while using my second IPS monitor to do work. That's why this has a VA panel like most TVs it's meant to be able to serve a dual role as a smart TV plus a computer monitor. At least mine has a convenient integrated USB c hub so you can attach a mouse and keyboard to the monitor that will work with whatever device is attached to USB c. That could be your laptop, or if you have a Samsung phone that supports dex you can plug it in and get a desktop like experience. It's not perfect but it is an interesting product that has its place for the right user. I believe it supports some Windows standard for easy wireless connection of laptops to the screen. I think it also supports some kind of direct connection to office 365 without computer being required, IE using the attached keyboard and mouse. I just checked in my monitor actually supports wireless dex as well.

Becomes 284 after edu discount now.

Edit:
When I visit that website without logging in, it shows 199. But after I log in an edu account, it becomes 284. Wired

No I sit close. But is this resolution ok? And is 60hz a deal breaker if I don't play any games. Would need it for usual day to day office work stuff
Ok? It's 4K, the resolution is excellent. And 60Hz is standard for 4K. This is a great buy at this price
