Tempting tempting. Need a new car soon, debating a Lexus or a Tesla model Y

If you have access to charging at home or work and don't plan on long trips, Model Y. Otherwise, get an ICE/hybrid vehicle.

Lexus will probably ride more comfy than the Model Y.

I own a Model 3 RWD (purchased in Feb 2023) and tempted to switch to the Model Y with these kind of deals and taking advantage of tax credits... Still thinking Wink

Tempting. If only the refresh wasn't coming out soon. This would be a no brainer.

This is an incredible price. I thought I was lucky to get one for $40k with the $7,500 credit (though I also got a $3,500 state rebate).

The people that can afford Teslas are getting laid off, so the price is going to keep dropping. I would wait for the fire sale

Afford a Tesla? The average new car price is over $48k (https://www.consumerreports.org/c...134608893/) and this is $36k with a $7500 tax rebate (if you qualify). Teslas aren't some insanely expensive luxury item.

For those that have the tax liability, it is very close to just cash back. I purchased one EV traded it in and bought the longer range (ford mache) and got 15000 off my taxes. + about 12k for my 30% solar credit. Yeah, the IRS direct deposited the difference vs my withholding.

15000 of tax ~ 3k-4k back (assuming you are the average Joe who pays ~25% tax. That you have 2 credits, for 1 car (7500 of tax) properly = 3k-4k divide by 2 = 1500-2k max Cash back
