This is the LSX first version which suffered from lots of connections issues, especially with Apple AirPlay.

FWIW, A4L tends to always have some kind of Kef sale going on. Doesn't make this a bad deal, but keep an eye on the site for other sales if you're looking.

They'll sound better than pretty much any basic 2.0 system you get off Amazon like Logitech and Razor. However, a lot of the non-2.0 systems also come with an included Subwoofer, which can make a huge difference. You'd have to source your own sub with this, which is money and configuration.

Really wish these had the traditional speaker inputs too.
They seem to be powered speakers so pretty standard inputs, it's nice it has optical and aux in addition to networking

They would be great, using the analog input. Coaxial speakers, and KEFs in general have pinpoint imaging and are amazing for nearfield listening. Put them up ear level on desk stands if possible.

If you connect wireless or even spdif digital input, there would be a slight delay from your actions on the screen. Probably not drastic. But a few hundred milliseconds. Bluetooth would be worse.

Edit: I forgot these don't have an analog connection between the two speakers (speaker wire) until another comment pointed it out.

You must use Ethernet or wifi for the other speaker. This will add slightly more delay.

Hard pass for desktop / gaming.

This, everyone.
I sold my pair of LSX (Gen 1) - horrible connectivity problems. Sounded great but the lack of traditional inputs is very limiting.

You can get passive KEF speakers like the Q series or the LS50 (non wireless) but those will have a much larger footprint. These are active, with their own preamp, amp, and DSP inside.

If you have a nice, beefy amp, I suggest looking at the LS50s! But you'll still probably want a sub.

I got these as a gift couple years ago. Connectivity is good as long as it is paired to your phone. Sound is good and if you have a sub then it will be amazing. I dont personally use them much. I live in an apartment and i dont like my neighbors know what i listen to.

Yup. Had both. While admire LSX, it's overkill for desk office, and arguably too small for main room listening. For an apartment, it's a good fit, though subwoofer does do A LOT. Lastly, don't recommend for home theatre.

LSX app is terrible. LSX II is fantastic but identical hardware
