I signed up for walmart+ this year with a half-off deal.

I originally decided to signup because it finally included a streaming deal. I hate commercials, but my MIL doesn't. So, she uses the paramount+.

The thing I use the most is scan & go. I don't really care for order pickup. So, this is a perk that allows me to get my own groceries scanning my items for checkout as I put them in a cart. When I am done, it asks me to confirm my count then has me scan a self checkout qr code to pay.

- For weighed items, they have scales to use.
- For alcohol, I will have to wait for the cashier to approve.
- In 6 weeks, I have experienced one validation that required the cashier to scan 3 random items from my cart to confirm I also scanned them. I was not expecting that and it happened on a day I wanted to be in and out. But I understand the need to measure customer error and integrity for a new program.
- I also load my cart with 3 totes before entering the store and put my items in the totes so I do not really need to touch them again after putting them in the cart. So no bagging.

Is it great? no. I don't grocery shop weekly but it is pretty convenient for me. A quick visit to get icing for a cake just got faster.

Also a savvier shopper will be able to make better use Walmart Cash. I didn't even try and accumulated $14 from my normal shopping routine and brands. I expect that alone to make up the cost. I believe this available to everyone but the scan/go just makes it super easy.

The other perks include $0.10/gal off for gas. Unfortunately, we don't have any participating station near us. But I will fill up when I can.

Early access to some deals might seem not much like a perk, it practically guaranteed 3 or 4 of my gifts this year.

Will I renew? I don't know. If I am being fair, it has already paid for itself in less than two months, so it is likely. If the coupons keep saving me around
Free delivery including home delivery for grocery orders.

Walmart+ also has free Paramount+ (with ads)
I doubt it would work since the Amex offer specifies that you need to spend at least $98:

"Get a one-time $40 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to make a single purchase of $98 or more on Walmart+ annual memberships online at Walmart.com/plus by 1/31/2024. See terms."

Anyone with current subscription manage to cancel/renew with discount?

This works for anyone who has done a free trial in the past. I only have ever done the free trial and show the offer. Can't speak to active members canceling and re-enrolling.

If anyone can try stacking with Amex Walmart $40 back, please report, $18 is the only way I would pay for this.

Read that backwards thinking W+ members get $40 off D+ annual membership. Was gonna sign back up but I'll continue to stay unsubscribed until there's content worthy of their price hike.

Walmart used to have their own employees fulfill my grocery order before the delivery person (instacart?) picks it up for delivery but now the delivery person does all the work. And they don't really care about quality or substitutions.
