STUNNING monitor visually, but uninspiring once you get past how striking it looks on your desk. The panel is VA (weak viewing angles, lackluster color reproduction), rather dim (400 nits peak brightness) and only 60Hz. These shortcomings are forgivable at this $300 price point, but quite disappointing when taking into account its $700 retail price.

I couldn't remember what had turned me off about this monitor last time I saw a deal on it. It was the VA panel, thanks for the reminder. It seems odd to me that they designed it with poor viewing angles when it was meant to be used as a TV. But, maybe improving the viewing angle would've made it a lot more expensive.

Agreed. As beautiful as the monitor itself is VA panels just suck (in my personal opinion).
This would be a great deal if it was IPS. Nice stand that rotates to portrait mode. I see $36 cashback available and you can use Chase freedom/paypal for another 5% bringing price down to around $250 + tax. Silly that they put a Disney button on the remote. I guess Disney paid them. Most adults using this on their desk aren't going to watch Disney.
Not much of a difference vs M70 unless you want the webcam. M80 slightly better in some ways and slightly worse in others.
