On the skillet, LOL @ the reviews about rust after washing.

These skillets are rough (you can see the texture from the casting in the photo). You can smooth them out with, say, an Avanti Pro drill-mounted stripping disk and then season. You probably would want to season more anyway. A lot of work for an $8 pan though.

Read about seasoning and caring for cast iron and similar pans. You do not need a drill to smooth this pan out. It is rough when new for a reason.
