It seems like every time these are on a "deal" price it is higher than before.

Yeah, I missed the days when it used to sale for $100. I just stopped waiting and went with the 1350VA one that usually still goes on sale for $70ish.

The $100 ones weren't true sine wave, were they? Those are always more expensive.

Something I learned not too long ago- those UPS's use sealed car/acid batteries, not lithium ion batteries like EV's. Lithium ion batteries UPS's are very expensive, usually over $1,000. 😁

Exactly what I was thinking.

As someone pointed out this is a sine-wave UPS, so that is worth a premium.

But Yeah still would wish for better savings.

I remember these going for around $120-130 in 2020. Even with inflation taken into account over 3 years, these should be closer to $150-160 for sale price. I have several older of this unit and it's still going strong with fairly decent battery capacity still after 3 years. However, I'll give the nod to this deal that if anything does happen Costco makes the return process super easy.

I had the Cyberpower 1350VA simulated sine wave unit fail after a year and Costco took it back without issue. So even if this does cost more than other places, at least you can have peace of mind if your run into any issues.

True. Interestingly enough though, I was looking at excessups and they have a refurb Eaton 5P 1500VA 1U lithium-ion UPS (refurb UPS, new battery) for $349 with free shipping. I'm on the fence, as it does not include network administration in the base unit, it's a pricy add-in network card.

I had one installed by an electrician and it was less than $300.

Same thought.

I've been buying replacement batteries and have kept my 5 units going that way. Did have one with a non battery failure thatbubhad to get a replacement for and was looking to pick a new spare unit up at sale price .

Are you sure these are Li-on batteries? I see "Sealed, lead-acid" as battery type there.

Surge protection wanes over time. There should be an LED that shows when your whole home surge protection is up and needs to be replaced. Just keep an eye on it.

Surge protection is not the same as a battery backup.

Looks like costco ver slightly butchered.

https://www.cyberpowersystems.com...500pfclcd/

1000W vs 900W (though same 1500 VA and same batteries).
3.1A vs 2.4A on the usb ports
12 outlets vs 10.
