I'm seeing $17.88 on the 8.3" one with stainless handle. Deal expired or is there a coupon code I'm missing?

These all look practical for hacking large chunks of meat and that's about it..

I commented on how this is junk in the last thread and got extremely downvoted... I guess people love cleavers? I do a lot of cooking and I've never used a cleaver seriously. Useless kitchen item.

We all appreciate you telling us you did a lot of cooking and never needed to use cleaver. However, a lot of others may appreciate more that you understand their cooking could be very different from yours and will need to use cleaver a lot.

What's wrong with the wooden ones?

I have the 8" Winco cleaver with wood handle (KC-301) for over 10 years. The wood stain is partially faded but the handle is totally intact, albeit hand washed only.

Used to chop chicken and pork bones, the blade has no single ding, and only requires infrequent sharpening. I used the back edge to break large and thicker bones. That part do have dings.

I've never found a use for one either. I've used a hacksaw for cooking more often than I have used the cleaver that I bought in 1989.

If you have a real heavy one, they're pretty good for flattening out cuts of steak to pan fry for steak sandwiches, but there are better tools for doing that.

I have a t-shirt from Despair.com that says "Made in the USA - By Robots". This is closer and more significant these days..

Chinese cleavers are mostly meant for chopping vegetables, not butchering
