There is hardly a description on the Walmart site. How do you know it is 5'6" pole? I don't see anything in the details or specs that gives any info on it.

Other sites, including Abu Garcia [abugarcia.com], give more detailed specs

I assume this is the packaged size as it's a 2-piece rod + reel

States assembled product dimensions. Unless their site is wrong.

Fwiw, that looks like a Berkeley cherrywood rod. If so, I got several of these combos from dicks. Great combos for crappie/panfish imo.

never buy bargain bin Fishing gear at Walmart. Save up an extra 25.00 and go buy a 50.00 combo rod and reel at Bass Pro. You will be glad you did.
Why would I want to go to an overpriced specialty store? I bought 3 Penn combos from Walmart at different times. All of them arrived in good shape in a timely manner. Bass pro had several different rods the last time I went, but most were overpriced store brands. As long as you're familiar with what you want I would not see an issue ordering from Walmart, and they are also known to be good about returns. I've never had an issue.

I recently bought penn and it came from Penn (pure fishing) directly. I think Penn is using Walmart to offload over stock.
