I think I read that is way over kill, and I think there's even a recommendation on the packaging stating up to 90 days is sufficient.
When I looked into it, most people said in this kind of circumstance (i.e. when renting a place), to just buy the cheapest filters if it really is expected they be changed monthly.

The FPR 10 version (black in color) is just a couple bucks more. If you have babies / children / pets at home that seems to be the way to go. Also make the deal sweeter with subscription. Savings of 5%.
Thanks!

The filter material on the 3M might be 4x as much if stretched out.
I just so happened to have 4-5 merv 12 or merv 13 filters laying around. Which should more than tide me over for a full year.
Didn't want to have to buy any more, just to change them out every month, especially if not really necessary.

I think it's just something that is written into the lease, that they haven't yet asked me about (I've been there just over 3 months).
