I have the LatteGo version of this machine (same grinder, brew group, etc) and it is a delight. Whole bean to espresso in about 45 seconds with no mess to deal with. Do the other machines offer more flexibility and potentially a better pull? Sure. But they're messy and may take a few dozen pulls before you hone your skills. This machine is just plain easy and makes great coffee. If you've been drinking k cups, Nespresso, or standard coffee machine stuff, this is the next level. If you love it and wanna try something better, go get a bigger machine. Or just enjoy the bliss of a stupid easy espresso.
I have this machine and it's great intro machine for 99% of people….easy to use, 10000x better than nespresso and kcup pods.
I couldn't girl math that $500-$-700 machine. I spend about 20-25 bucks in Nespresso pods a month. With this I can get a 2lbs bag that will last 2-3 months. Good thing it's from Costco. I can return it if it sucks liked you said.

Been eyeing this at Costco for a few months and it finally went on sale. My friend has this and I'm trying to replace my Nespresso. She swears by it and even told me to tell her if it goes on sale.

What is the different between this and the 2200

Found the answer 800=1200 less some chrome. 1200=2200 less the option of latte go

I have this machine and it doesn't make good espresso. I also bought Breville Barista Express and the espresso made by that machine is far better. Phillips is fully automatic, yes, but the quality of coffee is maybe a little above average.

I had this and returned it and got a delonghi. The coffee made by this was awful and was tasting horrible. I adjusted the grinder many times and even tried to prime it, nothing helped. Crema was meh and incomplete and pucks werent forming well with defined edges. Do Not Buy it

they are not super automatics they are semi-automatic, it's not press and walk away. They may be the better deal if that's no problem for you
