The CPU is getting long in the tooth and the RAM is DDR4. Not too appealing at this price to be honest.

Could you just swap the DDR4 for DDR5 later? I've seen where it's possible just to download it onto the motherboard.

This is not a DDR5 platform. It would make no difference for a 5700x.

No. AMD 5xxx CPUs don't support DDR5. You need to move to the 7xxx series cpus for DDR5.

you can only download RAM onto the new AM5 AMD motherboards. For example: AM5=DDR5 ... . notice the "5"

I did it for personal use because there was a dizzying array of choices and I needed to see all of them lined up in a simpler format.

Once I buy a system I will not be maintaining the sheet.

Awesome spreadsheet! Have you seen any deals for non gaming desktops? I just need something fast for office use / internet but everything I see is for gaming.
