I can't speak directly about the quality of this particular item, but I have, I think, 6-7 Kasa mini outlets all throughout my house that have been going strong and without issue for years. The app is easy to use and navigate and is very intuitive. Once you set them up they just do their thing provided they have a solid connection to your Wi-Fi. I plan on picking this up for Christmas lights.
Thanks OP!
This is pretty much a constant sale price for what seems like months now... curious is a new version coming out?
Agree. I bought this on 2 Dec for this price. Works well for my Christmas lights. Bye bye old digital timers!

I love these, but a better way to say it would be to say i *loved* them. I have had problems with using them on anything other than the worlds dumbest 802.11b networks.
I have a set of two from a previous deal, I could only get ONE of them on my dedicated IOT network. When i tried to add the other it threw a fit. Wouldnt work until I put it on a different network.
Have had similar networking issues with kasa devices before. They *love* to be on your one, all inclusive network that all your computers are on, but they don't tend to thrive well on more isolated networks.
That said, totally workable, you can usually cheese it by adding it to one network then moving it, or moving your setup device INTO the same network as the kasa plug, turning off network isolation, doing the setup, and then turning network iso back on, but its very fiddly.
And as far as IOT devices go, thats pretty much the norm =). So I would still recommend these, but also, if you're doing these outside - and you only want to turn them on and off at dusk / dawn... just get an old dumb, not wifi connected, not smart - dusk/dawn sensor plug and roll with that.
I have this one, got it last fall and used it for Christmas lights last year and this. Works great, I setup a timer so they go on at 4:00 pm and off at 1:00 am and it works reliably. Also have the option to control it from the app, so if we want to turn lights on earlier just turn them on in the app and they'll still shutoff at the scheduled time. Super easy to setup too and can control with Alexa if your into that as well.
I have this and it works great. I use the Kasa app and have the outdoor decorations on schedules so they turn on and off automatically. Bought it like 1.5 years ago.
