That being said, this deal took me down the rabbit hole and I read a bunch of reviews. Unfortunately a lot of the potentially interesting features (e.g. Castle Mode) didn't really pan out, ultimately leaving this is a minor upgrade over R1. The biggest feature here is the classic Super Bomberman local multiple player everyone knows and loves. So like all "light content" games it may be better on digital, so you can play only a few minutes without hassle and I may wait even longer to see how low the price will go (e.g. $15 + digital).
Aside but if you're looking at this for the local multiplayer with kids: Boomerang Fu, and Castle Crashers are both "must own." Ultimate Chicken Horse too for older kids (due to difficulty not content). That's assuming you already own Mario Kart 8 & Super Smash, since most people with a Switch will.
my kids enjoyed the first one, so i was about to get this. then i just found out the story mode is single player only. if that's the case, no go for me/my kids. thanks for the deal post though

First off this is a deal and I voted accordingly.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a lower price on digital. Deku Deals shows the all-time low for digital is $35 (!).
Bomberman R is $15 on amazon, you recommend getting the original over this new one?
The first game offers local coop for the main campaign which is a blast to play (no pun intended). It looks like the sequel is only single player, so if you don't plan on playing coop, either one is good. Otherwise, get the first one.
