That's some BS, I'm tired of games that are the Ultimate/GOTY/Complete Edition and they don't actually include everything, easy skip for me.

I picked this up previously for grade school kids who liked Hot Wheels. The base game had questionably little content, it basically should have been F2P for what you get (Hard to believe people paid $60 retail for the base game). They played it only very briefly. So that's why it's $6 now. Even the Game of the Year edition apparently doesn't have all the content.

I just picked up the GOTY version and then went through the DLC list and the only DLC I didn't have was free stuff. So after adding it all to my library, the only DLC I don't have is the GOTY Upgrade for the base game. Unless there's hidden DLC that isn't listed on Steam, it basically does have everything.

Yeah, but it's hard. I play plenty of racing games and had to drop it to easy to advance

This isn't the first time I've heard this.

I have the game (just the base game), I've played it for 10-15 hours, have played about half the levels and have unlocked less than half the cars.

The DLC looks fun- waiting for a better deal on that.

Ah ok, that's a different story then. My rant above was more along the lines of paid content being excluded.

The GOTY edition has everything & this game is FANTASTIC! Hours and hour of fun with the kids. $12 goes a long ways with this game. If you are looking for a gift, get this game!

Came to recommend, but yes the difficulty is a bit off. I had a lot of fun none the less even playing on easy unlocking cars and trying all the tracks. Online was decent as well I guess when you can find tracks that don't seem to be achievement farming. Maybe wait until the next sale unless you just really like arcade style racers or Hot Wheels.

My grandson was super in to Hot Wheels when I got it and he had plenty of fun with it as well.

Picked this up last time it was on sale and I just couldn't get into it, played about 3 hours and doubt I'll ever touch it again. I'm a fan of racing games but don't care about hot wheels, so maybe that's why

it's....meh

It was included on Playstation a while back so I downloaded it and gave it a shot. Theres a "story" and online play. You can do the story against AI, but as you go through the different tracks you're eventually gate locked by time trials. So if you don't use the right car or find the right line and can't beat the time trial you can't continue. So you can win all the other races with your favorite car, only to find it's not good enough for a time trial. And while the tiem trials aren't necessarily hard if you get the right car, choosing the right car or running the same track for 20 minutes to get that 1 magical time can be annoying and certainly repetitive.

The game is rife with micro transactions of course. You can buy boxes which contain mystery cars, or just buy the car outright.

There is a track builder option, but of course you have to unlock features through game play (see previous comment about story mode), or buy them outright. I'm sure some will have an absolute blast building tracks and trying to race your friends etc. I got bored with it quick.

I played for a bit and then decided I was done. It's in my Playstation library, but I doubt I'll go back to it. It is cool that you can collect cars, but they're just digital representations, I'd rather grab some real Hotwheels. YMMV

I got the GOTY edition and have all of the DLC available that is in Steam. I had to manually add the free ones so I'm not sure what others are talking about.

is this like Sonic Racing games where its fun to pick up but also can get technical when trying to get best times? How are the mechanics?

The game is absolutely worth six bucks if you like racing games, especially if you're also even remotely into Hot Wheels. I'd never pay anywhere near retail for it, but at this price it's a good one to have in the library.
