I purchased the V11 from Dyson over 2 years ago working just fine. It came in a brown box, but outside a few specks of dust in the canister everything else was 100% brand new. Prior to that I believe I bought the v8 from them, it was handed down to MIL and still in service for over 6 years -- both on original battery.

The only thing I would say for Dyson is FOLLOW the recommended cleaning schedule for the filters and I typically don't let the batteries run fully down ever because that will kill Li-Ion chemistries right quick.
