53wh hour battery is pretty small. Lacks usb4/thunder bolt. Cheaper then options with bigger battery and more outputs.

If performance is more important = desktop
If portability / size is more important = laptop

Depends on if the portability of the laptop is important to you or if getting the most performance for your dollar is your prioirty.
If it will always just be hooked to a monitor then I'd go with a desktop.
You'll get more performance / price out of a desktop. But the laptop is portable and has the buitl in screen.
Also be aware that the graphics chips in laptops are usually underpowered versus the same # part on a desktop. So a 4060 card in a desktop will get ya more performance than a 4060 in a laptop. This is generally because the laptops have to limit power to keep from overheating.

Would've snapped this up if it had a 4060.

Already bought the Lenovo LOQ 15 for the same price from Best Buy. Actually I got the open box for $606. Wish they'd drop these 4050s to $600-$650 and then the 4060s to $700ish.

How are MSI laptops in longevity? I bought a Lenovo LOQ 15.6 with RTX 3050, i5 13450, 8gb ddr5 ram and 1tb SDD for 600. For 100 dollars more, this one offers better gpu, better cpu, double ram but with half the sdd size. I'm still within return window of Lenovo. Thinking of returning Lenovo for this but not sure about the quality

I just got a desktop this year after using a laptop for years. I don't game that much so my 2019 MSI laptop that I bought for $1100 has been perfect for my needs. I've played pubg, killing floor, CS and GTA on it and it's been fine. The laptop is still fine now, but the thing that made me finally switch is the keyboard getting hot whenever I play and I have to lift the back up a bit so the fans can move more air, and the 512gb storage is running out of space and I can't install more games without deleting some. I've been connecting my laptop to a monitor too so I don't need the mobility of a laptop.

Adding a data point from my experience. I bought the MSI GL Series GL75 9SDK-063 17.3" 144 Hz IPS Intel Core i7 9th Gen 9750H (2.60 GHz) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 16 GB Memory 512 GB NVMe SSD Windows 10 Home 64-bit Gaming Laptop in Dec 2019 and it's been working fine. I use it everyday, play pubg and killing floor mostly, also use photoshop. It's been great, nothing wrong, didn't need any repair. I leave it plugged constantly in so I don't know how the battery life is.

I got the same exact one. How does the 8G ram holds the game? Did you upgrade it? Thinking of upgrading to 32G

I used my old MSI GE62VR (6th gen i7 and 1060) for five or six years until the left hinge broke loose from the upper half. Just like pretty much every MSI laptop, I've since learned.
