Just in case anyone was curious about ordering from Minisforum...

I placed a pre-order for this exact UM690S back in late September. $351 at the time.

After waiting until the END of November for it to ship it took about 2+ weeks to arrive. And was DEAD on arrival...would NOT boot to BIOS at all.

After about a week of back and forth emails and sending videos so they would believe it was actually broken...they finally said Yep it's broken send it back to us on YOUR dime.

Due to the holidays and it having a battery it had to go ground shipment to their warehouse? in Texas and took another week and half.

Forgot to mention not only did they say send it back on your dime...we WILL NOT SHIP out the replacement until after we get it and inspect it our warehouse!

So after waiting for it to show as delivered on the tracking number I wrote THEM an email and said what now?

This was their response..."Due to the large volume of orders during the Shopping Festival, there will be some delays in shipping. Your purchased product is expected to be shipped within another 7-10 working days"

This will be my LAST and FINAL purchase from Minisforum.

After all this I may have a working unit sometime in January??

Completely unacceptable. ​

This is the reason why many will pay a bit extra to go through amazon instead of direct minisforum's site. But it might still may not be worth it unless you are ok with something that might die randomly. :/

I have a slightly older model with the ryz see n 4800h and it works like a charm with proxmox. Worth checking specs but mine came with hardware virtualization and enabled by default.

They are completely different things. What do you run on Proxmox that needs so much power? The n100 is meant to be ultra efficient. In fact for Plex and a few containers it's nearly impossible to beat due to having Intel quicksync. This thing is a pretty powerful 16 thread mini computer. Would run many containers and VM's yet inferior for Plex.
