Looks like $20 is the new low price for Deluxe plus State with inflation. Last year it was $17.49 on Jan 14th but we may never see that price again the way things are going up in this economy.
According to BLS cumulative inflation is 17% since 1/2021 so that would discount back to ≈ $15, which is what OwnManagement just posted. So I'm in at this price.

What you have there is for the online edition. Standalone Deluxe does business income and expenses.
Ah, made an (apparently incorrect) assumption that there was feature parity between the online and offline editions. Appreciate the correction.

For those of you with rental properties, which version works the best?
I always used Deluxe when I had rental properties. I also had a tax accountant that checked my work. He almost always ended up with the same numbers that I got using Deluxe. I used H&R Block to help me organize and consolidate all the data I provided to my accountant.

It is for Windows download only. No Mac version
Why does it have "PC/Mac - Download" in the title?

Can someone who has already made the purchase please confirm what format the download is in?

Yes online and installed versions completely different and it is just damn confusing they call both Deluxe when the online is limited in what it can do.

It is all little more complicated than that even. If you follow Block' marketing and the charts about what version you need for the desktop version you will find that they make it sound like you need Premium for Schedule C and other thigs like rental income when you do not. It causes much confusion and many to pay more for something they don't need.

Looking at the 2023 Premium and Business, I got this last year for $35. Might wait a little longer for them to drop it 5 more bucks.

Just bought it. It gives you link to both OS setups. And a single key/code. Definitely "PC/Mac".

This is incorrect. Stop misleading people.

Everyone else: click "Compare filing options" at

last year 12/15 I purchased the Deluxe without state from HR for 15
still waiting that price
LOL

$18 for the Deluxe without State is the best I've seen this year, and just a few dollars more than what I paid last year. I'm in.

Here's my history for Deluxe without State, including tax:

2021 - $14.93
2022 - $16.00
2023 - $19.20

Prior to 2021 I had to buy the Premium version, so that's less useful to compare.

Actually, you are misleading people based on Block's misleading charts. They want to upsell, and you are helping them along taking unnecessary money out of the consumer's pocket. I have already purchased and installed Deluxe, and it does Schedule C just as it has always. It also does rental income which is something else the chart misleads about and just about any and all typical or complicated returns. The only thing it does not do is corporate income. I have already commented on this a few posts back. If you needed some clarification, you could have just asked. You must calm yourself and not side with the salesmen so much.

In fact, all versions Basic, Deluxe and Premium have and fill in the exact same forms. The only difference is in the amount of guidance you get. I have never found deluxe to lack any guidance to do any business income and expenses. It does everything from depreciation, business vehicle expenses, to the home office deduction and has more than enough guidance.

You can parrot what the marketers say and link to misleading marketing materials or you can listen to somebody that knows. This comes up every year and I warn people of it every year and even created Wiki that explains the situation.

This all caused me great concern one year when I saw people saying here on SD that Deluxe does not do Schedule C. I had already purchased a boxed version as I had been using Deluxe for many years to do my taxes and thought they had made some change. Long story short the only thing that changed was their marketing strategy, the software did just as it had all the previous years.

Not trying to be rude but please don't come out swinging like that when you are sharing misleading information supplied by the people that want our money that you have not researched and verified yourself. This is SD and it is supposed to be for the consumer, we don't share misinformation that makes other members pay more for something that is not needed.

I can understand it and excuse it as Block does its best to make you think you need a higher version when you don't but as a SD member and supposed smart consumer you have the responsibility to find out for yourself and not take a salesman's word for it before you start spreading misinformation that can cost somebody else. I am not worried about an apology, but it would be a courtesy to everybody that may be new here to get your post down as to not have somebody in these tight times be wasting money.
