My wife and I do cold brew concentrate every morning and use the Toddy system. We've been through 4 grinders over many years, and this one is so much better than all the others (the Costco one, a Mr Coffee one, and another random burr grinder) that I couldn't believe it.

The coffee tastes significantly richer and it can grind 13 ounces without flinching or jamming. You can also fully disassemble it to clean it.

Highly recommend if you really care about your coffee
I believe it has 40 settings. The first 20 for espresso the last 20 for other methods. I would think it should still be fine
Just to clarify, this is the newer ESP version that's targeted for espresso grinding. I'm not sure how it does for non-espresso grinding.

Good deal for the ESP version, I'd be tempted if I didn't already have a Vario. Frown

The street price for this is around $180. While not a huge discount, these don't go on sale all that often. Good find OP!

Not really applicable, the Virtuoso+ is not suitable for espresso. For filter coffee specifically, Virtuoso+ is more or less an Encore with better burrs and build quality and some added features.

So this is better choice for espresso and pour overs then? Well that's what I need

Wasn't as big of fan of settle esp for pricing and unsure how it would look on counter

Thanks

I have this and it's ok. Biggest gripe is how much bean residue that is left behind and leaves a mess to clean up after each use. I'm always considering buying another brand

I have an old version on the non-ESP and I put it on a small rectangular tray to catch the residual grinds. It works pretty well and I can just dump it in the trash once a week.

You can just spray a little water onto the beans to help with the static. I usually just wet one of my finger and move the beans around with the wet finger.

Here is a good video on it - https://youtu.be/nLnB99VJ0HE?si=asQb8szTLmT-RP2S

Are you making more espresso or pour overs/filter coffee?

Ideally you have dedicated grinders for each. There are machines that can do both but flavors get lost when you have an all in one machine.

I used to do that and it killed the electrical in my grinder after 6 months. Lots of people having that problem of moisture affecting the machine longterm. Personally I'd never do it again.
