22 inches long vs 12.5 inches long... So 76% longer is "not even much bigger"? Please stop spreading misinformation. Thanks.

Quite a few comments I've heard state that the wings are surprisingly flimsy considering the cost of this build due to the heavy wings. Would expect a more sturdy X-wing at the price. Unless it's for display only, I'd grab the Luke's X-Wing version for $40.

Watched a few YouTube vids on it and the main complaints are the fragility. Its definitely not a 'play set' it's more of a display piece. If you plan on building it and displaying it and not moving it around much its ok. I have a feeling that this one will go lower at some point as its still pretty new. Overall not a bad price considering the cost of lego now a days. We usually don't get discounts this early in the products life cycle so if this was on your list to buy at some point this isnt a bad price.

Wow this was just released for the May the 4th drop this year. Crazy how far it has been discounted already. I bought on drop day and still haven't built. Might just be worth selling off at this point haha

This is why so many consider the tie fighter a superior design over the X-wing. And the X-wing's place in history is dictated by a "lucky shot" over other factors like durability and performance.

I would argue that all UCS Lego Star Wars are mainly meant to be display based only. The smaller sets are the ones meant to be played with.

This set is excellent at full price. Only complaint with the build is the wings are a little repetitive, but the end result is fantastic. I have built all the big X-wings over the years (back to the original UCS set) and this is by far the best one--the wing mechanism for opening and closing is really cool! For those unfamiliar with Lego Star Wars UCS (Ultimate Collector Series), these are models, not play sets. They are big and detailed and intricate and designed to be displayed on their stands, not played with like the much smaller sets. At almost two feet long, this one makes for quite an impactful display piece. FWIW, of all the X-Wings over the years this one is also has the best scale conversion to the "actual" X-Wing specs. For $200 it is a great set for an adult build--for your kid to play with, get the cheap small one.

No hyperdrive, no shields, no cabin life support...

I'm sure the TIE was cheaper, but Incom clearly had the better engineers.

Woohoo! Thanks for this. Was looking for an expensive gift for my son, he doesn't have this one yet.

Price matched with Target and used several of the gift cards I got from the iTunes deal a week or two ago.
