Don't do it. Get an induction one. Boil water in under 2 minutes for ramen. This unit takes forever to heat up.

Keep in mind, what else you may have on the circuit on your counter top. Lots of apartments will have you tripping breakers.

Any heater - kettle, microwave, induction, this one - will be pushing against the breaker limit. You need energy to heat
Induction will be more efficient at the same power, as it heats cookware, not everything around. Microwave is even more efficient, although more limited in applications.
