See past comments. OMRON is basically the gold standard for home BP accuracy without spending a fortune. OMRON units are all on the validatebp.org site as 3rd party tested and when used correctly offer very accurate results by even clinical standards. Our clinics accept validated devices as home BPs and we put them in patient charts.

For measuring make sure you are rested (5-10 minute cool down) back supported, feet flat on the ground, arm rested at about heart height, not listening or talking to anyone (no phone watching) and measure on a BARE arm. If you miss any of these it can vary your measurement by 5 to 40mm of mercury. On an accurate device, unusually high readings are often one of the above root causes.

If you're measuring high or want to get a more accurate spread of readings wait at least a minute before measuring again.

I personally own the OMRON Platinum, a very similar model. I like the multiple reading setting where it takes up to 3 measurements 1 minute apart but their software averages them. I just record the individual readings.

And avoid wrist cuffs like the plague unless you have a condition or injury that precludes an arm cuff. They are the worst type for accuracy and we have driven them out of our ambulatory clinics. Their measurements are all over the map and are worse than useless as they give both false low and high readings.
N.B.: If you are in the VA system and have any issues with BP or Afib you may request a free BP monitor.
Great price. FYI Series 7 like the one in this deal does not come with AC adapter.
For Sam's Club members, you can get this Series 7 with Free AC adapter for the same price. [samsclub.com]

Does the display illuminate for easier visibility in low light?

How's the app (ease of use, functionality)? Does it allow for export of BP history in a spreadsheet format which can be sent to a phone or computer?

Battery life?

Thank you for an intelligent and accurate comment. The frustrating part is that most doctors offices and clinics do not follow the standard protocol. Don't have time as they shuffle patients in and out the door. For this reason I trust my at home readings more than my doctor's office readings--not because my home machine is more technologically advanced but because at home I actually follow the correct protocol.

I've wondered from time to time how many people on high blood pressure meds are false positives due to wrong blood pressure readings by inept medical staff.

Yes, if you click through the images it says it right on the box.

Medical staff are much more accurate since theses cuffs rely on pressure variation, when done manually, they listen.

That's a very short sighted response.
There are people who value doing it correctly, and others who do not.
Medical staff are not any more accurate as 'listening' isn't the same between practitioners.

There are other factors that also play a part in doing it manually, with variations occurring.
Manual cuffs can also be used incorrectly and give improper readings.

The only accuracy is doing readings over several weeks and months to get a true base line.
It doesn't matter if it's using a machine or having it manually done.
What's important is the method is consistent.
If there's a concern with the equipment, then get it calibrated.

And most importantly, don't take advice regarding health from a deals forum.

This is an okay deal.
The Series 10 was had for $32 earlier, when combined with discounts and coupons.
Uses the same A/C adapter and case as posted for this one.
