For an ultralight tent for one in this price range, you might like to take a look at "The Two" from Gossamer Gear or Durston Gear X-Mid 2P. True one-person tents are often a bit small for one person, especially if the weather is bad. I would lean towards the Gossamer Gear option since Dyneema is a great material. Both these tents assume you are carrying poles and neither are freestanding. If conditions are pretty good and you don't expect bugs you might also consider a Dyneema tarp plus a Tyvek groundsheet.
It's not a terrible deal, really depends on your usage and how you like to hike.
I've got one nemo tent ( blaze 2p ) it's held up really well but when you get into this level of ultra light tents they are fairly delicate. Lately I've used a cheapo walmart ozark trail one ( paid like $20 for it ) it's like 3.5lbs but is light enough for 2-3 nighters which is all I do anymore anyway and if I tear it up no biggie I don't even take a footprint for it.
Honestly though pack weight is something you can train for and doesn't matter a ton unless you have health issues or are trying to really cover a ton of ground... People on the AT i've seen have had 40lb packs and 14lb packs .. Some will sleep on the ground and just a tarp covering them some with fairly heavy duty tents and stoves etc.
