After looking into this deal, I just realized it's a raw deal for existing customers. The fact that new users are subject to selecting a $60 plan and pay that over 2 months to be eligible for this deal is an insult and I would rather find a better iPhone 12 deal elsewhere.
The only thing you have wrong is that you can downgrade the $60/mo plan immediately to the $30/mo plan then get another $5/mo discount when you sign up for autopay, so you only have to pay $5 for month 5 and then $25 for month 6 on top of what you pay at the point of sale. Obviously, this deal doesn't make sense unless you really want to daily drive this phone for 6 months just to get the unlock.
