Does anyone know if it will work with AT&T right out of the box? Need a temp phone and happy to pay $220 for this Smilie

I just did it in store. Was 24x.xx with taxes for the 128GB iphone, 1 month at $60 and activation and tax.

Can I just rollback to the $30 plan right now? and then continue on it? for 6 months?

I just downgraded to $30 plan via a call and I see a $30 credit in my portal. Will add autopay to drop it to $25 for the last 4 months fo the 6 month contract.

Metro, you're good with only 1 month active service and auto unlocking at around the 180th day from activation

Cricket is 6 months continuos service, unless they changed something recently.

Boost mobile = 12 months of active service

I bought a 2020 SE2 last year from a dealer and they only charged be for one month and out the door for $90. total and no activation fee. I played them with telling them that Metro dealer nearby was offering the same. Worked for me. You must talk to a manger or owner to get deals though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you convert the 2 months of $60/m plan to 4 months of $30/m plan. You get $25 from the referral. You post your own referral and hope that you get at least two more. That's a total of $75 which should get you to the 6 months of continuous service to unlock the phone.

Is there a place I can get a referral code and post my own referral code?

Agreed, that loophole was nice while it lasted. Even when they started requiring a new account, you used to be able to activate the new lines on new account and then quickly merge the new account with an existing old account and cancel new lines during first cycle. Then you'd get to keep the credit for the second month of service. But they shut down the merging these new accounts while the lines are under a plan requirement. You can always try to merge by chat because maybe they've softened on that too.

Yes, that's what we've done. Use existing sim from existing line in new phone and get unlocked after 6 months.

Others are reporting that this is working but I recall about two years ago that Cricket was not allowing plan changes or account merges during the restricted period (2 or 3 months of service depending on the terms) for new accounts on iphone deals. For the iphone deals, Cricket often has stricter terms. For example in the terms for this one and the iphone 11, it says this: Account will remain subscribed to $60/mo. plan for two months. For other phones they have on sale, they don't have the some restrictions. So ymmv on making changes during the restricted period (two months in this case).

Last time I tried was a couple of years ago, maybe they've softened on the plan downgrade - it is certainly worth trying if that helps your situation.

You can use any AT&T phone on Cricket but you would need to unlock a Cricket phone to use on AT&T.

So port a number in, pay $99 + 2x $60/mo, chat to downgrade to $30 plan, enable auto pay to get it to $25/mo, your 2x $60 gets converted to a $90 credit? And then you just have to pay the final 2x $25/mos and then it auto unlocks as long as you leave the sim in the phone the entire time and do not use it in any other device?
