In case you miss it: BIG FYI THIS WILL NOT LET YOU USE A TESLA SUPERCHARGER ON YOUR non-Tesla J1772 car. Most of the Tesla charger stations you see at malls and freeway stops are supercharger stations and this will not let you use those.

The rare scenarios where this might help. You have a non-Tesla J1772 car and you want to:
- Charge at a friend or relative's house and they have a Tesla Wall charger installed.
- Charge at a hotel or other public place that happens to have a Tesla Destination charger installed (sort of like a public version of the Tesla Wall charger). These are not super common.
- Use somebody else's Tesla mobile charger because you don't have one and there's no other options.

This is also useful for those of us who have both a Tesla and non-Tesla in the garage and want to use the single Tesla charger for both cars. This is a good deal and I'm in for one.

All teslas comes with the J1772 to Tesla adapter, so there's little demand for that.
