That's too bad. I use them in all of my vacation rentals and have had zero issues. Each home has 4 nodes in it. I love the system and can control it remotely.

I've had the XT8 for a couple years. Firmware is key. It ranges from "didn't work someone kill me" to "works perfectly". The SNB forums has a good discussion. FYI my setup is hardwired. About 60 devices connected in total give or take. *288_23285 has been working perfect for me.

Been using these for the last couple of years. Asus has terrible QC on their firmware updates. I finally found one that's been relatively stable and have stayed on that for a while now.

I wouldn't buy it again given the pain it's given me and many others with device disconnects and random latency spikes

Another benefit of the Deco over this one is that it supports WiFi 6e, while this Asus only supports WiFi 6. WiFi 6e adds the 6GHz band, which works well for me (I have the Deco XE75).

I've had an awful experience with these with no firmware update to fix it. One node is not useable because when it's on the entire network starts dropping packets. I'll never buy Asus again

I've had these for going on a year and a half or so and haven't been happy, I have two nodes at either end of an upstairs hall and devices along the perimeter will randomly drop on occasion. My previous AC68U was much more reliable. I'm going to be replacing these over my holiday vacation with that I should've used from the start - some Unifi APs,

I cannot recommend the XT8s and if you do get them strongly encourage you to look at the alternative Gnuton firmware based upon Asuswrt by Merlin. Asus literally does not QC their firmware releases so you typically get a fix or two and break 3 or 4 more things in order to get security updates. The performance is also highly YMMV and dependent on your use-case. I have a super large footprint to cover AND rely upon the built-in network switch to connect to a another wired network router/switch with a NAS, whole-house audio, and Zwave controller among other things. The wireless side of the XT8 works flawlessly and you really do want to use the wireless backhaul if possible. It is the wired network that is a problem for me as the built-in switch just craps out at random times and requires the main node to be rebooted to reactive the built-in switch. I also had to stop using wired backhaul as there were too many random issues. I think it is something to do with the routing table and spanning tree protocol to prevent network loops. Both the XT8's and downstream router/switch have this turned off but it still happens. I've limped along with the XT8s for years and cannot wait for a deal on something else so I can unload these.

I agree with the hot or miss firmware updates. To top it off they put the AX92U on their end of life list with no new security updates after just a few years.

Personally with WiFi7 routers already out I'd wait for them to become reasonable.

I've been using these for about 8 months. Out of the box they work very well. However, when you try to customize some settings like setting preferences by device to a specific 'satellite', it will cause all sorts of issues until you factory reset. Luckily, I don't need to customize too much so they work for me.

I have used these for nearly two years. At first I had repeated firmware issues that affected performance. Last year or so has been smooth sailing. Coverage is great, speed is great.

I have mixed feelings on this. Went from ORBI to this. Had issues with both. Their firmware rollout isn't great, likely don't want to auto update. I make sure to read around prior to updating my firmware. I wanted something that was truly plug and play, but this router setup has required more hands on than I would expect for this price point.

Initially, I had a terrible experience with these when using them wirelessly (in terms of backhaul).
Once I switched them over to wired backhaul, they have been superb and I only ever experience an outage because my modem has lost internet connection.

I have a much smaller property than the sqft. coverage advertised here, and the signal doesn't really seem to leave my house.
I have no signal on my back deck despite it being attached to my living room where the primary access point sits.

Was on the fense with these. Reviews show people having issues which put me off.

Decided to pay extra and go with the ASUS ROG Rapture GT6 (2PK) AX10000 Tri-Band WiFi 6 Gaming Mesh System.

Zero issues with them. Run about $450 for 2.
