Logic checks out
I would also always recommend matches in a "emergency" kit over a lighter. No reason to have a lighter in a situation where it could leak out fuel (age) or explode (hot car) before you need it.

Flint and tinder needs char cloth, fire pistons also need good dry char cloth, lighters fail, cotton balls covered with vaseline work well but take up a lot of space and you can only carry so many. Boe drills need very dry base to work, nope ferro rod 100%

If finding yourself lost in the wilderness is a credible concern, you should check out survival courses where you're taught basic fire building, foraging, shelter building, navigating. From there you'll find tools more appropriate to your specific situation.

When and if you are ever in an emergency situation you want your emergency kit to be there to save the day not fail on you when you need it most! Personally
I would never buy a premade survival kit I always buy quality components that I know will last. Name brand knifes, first aid components ETC not premade as corners are always cut. When you need to cut some firewood and that emergency knife in that kit has it's blade snap off and stab you that kit just added to your issues not help solve them!
I mean if you never ever get more tham a mile from a Starbucks then chances are this is just a display survival kit so go for it1

The compass in that kit useless except to smash and get the oil out to help start a fire ( if it is even oil filled)
The knife in thet kit = dangerous the blade will probably break on you and vut you when you need it most!
the paracord bracelet= probably ok cordage is cordage as long as it is a properly braided single line and not 5 small pieces glued together(wouldn't put it past HF goods)
The flashlight is probably not really waterproof so will fail when you need it, Probably not too bright either!
Ferro rod, a good ferro rod is cheap to manufacture so it is probably ok although you really want a magnesium bar with your ferro rod.
The little mini nut driver=what a waste of space what are you going to fix with that?
You get what you pay for and yep individual products will be more expensive but if you need a survival kit you need to spend more on one!!!! If you don't need one then why get one!
Go watch what is it 48 hours where the guy saws off his own hand and the one comment he makes is he really wished he had a better quality multitool instead of the $8 discount Leatherman clone!
A real compass will cost more than this entire kit, a compass that I woudl want to use to navigate with
A decent knife will cost maybe the same $24 as this kit. My EDC is good quality steel and was only $20
A fire starting rod meh go ahead and buy a $5 one from Harbor freight, I have been buying HF magnesium bars for 20 years and I have used them in the field and they work!
