Got the 20% off on the 8750 Watt electric start. 516.87 before taxes. I jumped on that faster than your mom. These smokes the previous FP deal right?
It was $1000 to wire the entire basement, including installing about 15 electrical outlets and three light fixtures as well as installing the generator interconnect kit. I was guessing that if you were only doing the generator interconnect kit, it would cost maybe $400-$500. I apologize for not being more clear.
Same experience with a 1500W version except it was the fuel line. Leaked from the beginning and no real way to return it or get warranty service. Thankfully it was literally only $100 down the drain. Never buying this brand again.

I don't think so. It seems like the coupon was for a different product category & they fixed it…

Are the break in instructions in the manual? Did u use break in oil?
Yes in instructions.. basically run less than half load with fluctuations so the piston seats. I ran with 10w30 then switched to 5w30. Appears break in is actually called for 10w30 so I wanted to do it proper.

Go to generatorbible. They have a compare tool for generators like rtings has a tool to compare televisions…
Thank you
That was helpful
I did the comparison and the Duromax seems better at almost the same price, only downside is it's bigger/heavier. So not sure why everyone is so interested in this champion 100520? Maybe someone can enlighten me

Its an inverter which is clean power, will run more efficient using less gas.

100520 is an inverter. It will be quieter and use less fuel when not under a full power load.

Does a bigger generator use that much more gas even if they both have the same load on them?
yes... naturally a bigger engine will consume more fuel (just like a car) and the generator must maintain a minimum speed on the generator in order to produce constant power... The larger engine just means it can handle a higher load when demand is placed on it. Size your generator to what you really must need to run. My must haves are 2 freezers, two fridges, some lights and in the winter furnace blower. I have a 5500w non-inverter unit that has a 30a 240 and it barely runs what I need... looking at this 8750 inverter which will run more efficiently and deliver more and cleaner power. I lost power for a week this summer and I was going through 12 gallons of fuel (gas) per day... Natural gas is the way to go if you have access but fuel density is much poorer and you need a much larger unit to get the wattage performance you would get from gas.

I bought the 6250 for $530 with the 5% coupon last week and I was able to do a $393 price adjust through Amazon chat.

Consider the fuel use. You don't always need 10k to be comfortable and you would go through tons of fuel quickly if you can find fuel. Think about a smaller gendset to make a one bedroom bunker and a running a fridge in a long term blackout.
No doubt, I ran most of my lighting (LED), a fridge, gas furnace & a sump pump that was cycling at 9 amps every couple of minutes to keep my basement from filling with water off of a Honda eu2000i generator for pretty much 9 days straight during a natural disaster without a single problem. I got about an average of 5 hours from a 1 gallon tank of gas.

Most folks I knew were using giant obnoxiously loud fuel guzzling generators, fuel was not easy to obtain during this time either, hours in line every day if you needed it.

Would the 4250 be enough to power a refrigerator (side by side), TV, PS5, box fan and a few lamps?

I don't see why that would be a problem for the 4250.. Deal appears to be over now however..

Good reply.
On a side note. Whatever generator you get buy lots of oil. Plan on changing the oil once a week. The Oil in air cooled engines acts like a coolant not just a lubricant. Also like the poster said propane has less energy and you will use more fuel and it also makes the generator run hotter without the added benefit of gasoline acting like a lubricant. This makes oil changes even more important.
