Bought one before for $199 from woot. This is a great deal. Grabbing another for the other kid
Thinking about picking it up too but had some questions. Are you able to connect to PC via USB C? Does it require subscription to use? What are some complaints you have? Just wanna be informed how much tinkering I'll have to do to play games on it. Thanks!
Debating on pulling the trigger but I keep reading different experiences about needing a subscription or that it doesn't work with steam vr. Anyone know the latest details?

I bought it for $99 at microcenter. I can't say it was worth it. Comfort is a big issue for me. It is too heavy on the face and I didn't like the face cushion. It can't be tethered to a PC. You can use it wirelessly for free using the relive vr app if you have an AMD card. The speakers will leak a lot of sound, but there's an aux port for headphones.
If it's like the quest there are some lower power games that are still a lot of fun like beat saber and I expect you to die. Even with a "full power" wired set, I often prefer these games.
There is also a virtual desktop app that basically allows you to sub your monitor(s) with the VR headset. Apparently watching movies is like sitting in a giant theatre but I haven't tried it myself personally. I generally can't get through more than 30m-1h of VR without getting headaches. But that's not the fault of VR just a personal issue.
