According to the review, you have to plug in a USB-c cable that provides power if you intend on charging your laptop through the dock. (Most people would be plugging in their laptop ac adapter for this purpose)

So you can power 2 4k monitors at 60 hz, however there is a catch with this from the PC World review:
Quote :
There's one small catch: The additional USB-C port on the Dock is a vanilla USB-C port that needs to be connected to a 60W charger to power the dock—which isn't supplied. That's fine if your laptop charges with a USB-C charger; if it doesn't, you'll need to buy one. Otherwise, the lack of a charger certainly saves space while on the go.
For the original price of 170 that's pretty bad. At 50 it's ok, but what isn't clear how much power can it send to the laptop to charge.

Edit: One of the reviews posted this:

That's a dealbreaker if it doesn't come with a PS.

at least this thunderbolt 3 belkin which was discontinued 2 years ago has a power supply :

I connect an old intel m3 powered 12" MacBook to my synology 220+, and use it for remote access to SABNZBD and the -arrs and other stuff I don't want to run natively on the synology. Right now it lives on WiFi and I want to connect it by Ethernet to my router. Will this be a good setup to plug in to full time? The device only has one USBC port so it needs to power and do all data transfer too.

I have one of those 12" MacBooks, too. I'm not sure this Belkin will work for you, as your MacBook USB-C doesn't support native Thunderbolt, which this appears to require. Alternatively, something like this is similar-priced and gives you an SD card slot instead of a DisplayPort. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Powe...2UUFAVFN6R

I bought a different one it generates a lot of heat. If you need more than 60 watts this could be a problem. My notebook came with 65 watts and it works fine.

These docks do a lot of work so they use power.

Chargers are common nowadays so not surprised they do not include it that would add to the price when most people have one or will buy one.

Assuming you mean the base M2 chip (not Pro/Max), then no. You'd need DisplayLink software/adapter for that.
