Damn I just paid $280 after tax for my KE from Creality. Should I tell my kid he can't open his Christmas present because I have to send it back to save $60 😂
Let your kid open and enjoy the one you already bought and simply return the new one to Creality.

SE 100% for auto z offset. There's no reason to buy any other ender model other then the k1's, and ender 3 v3 se and ke.
Among the K1, KE, and SE, which one is the best and what are the differences? Their website doesn't have much info.

As long as the serial number on the unit matches the serial number on the box there shouldn't be an issue.

I just mentioned returning the new one so he didn't have to go through the trouble of disassembly and packing the original one back up.

I got the V3 SE for less than this
It was $159 and I used a $25 off submit a build coupon
I think it is up to $169 now so still cheaper to get theV3 SE
I still haven't unboxed mine yet but now I keep seeing bad reports about the the SE and specifically the auto Z and leveling mess
Not sure if this got better with new FW or not
But I seem to be seeing more mixed reviews now on the V3 SE
Now that it has been out for awhile.
Almost all initial reviews were good
But they were all sponsored or they got a free review units
I am starting to see complaints from ordinary users now.
I hope this will be a good for me as a beginner.
I hope if there are problems Creality will be able to fix them with a FW update or that the community will find solutions quickly.
I am already starting to question whether I should have just went for the KE but at that price point I would have probably just went for the K1 since it was in sale for $350 and I could have used the $25 off coupon ,so $325 for the K1 or 280- $25 for the KE know of seems like a no brainier to go for the K1
But I just decided to get the SE since it was in sale and save the money and see how low the bambu's drop next black Friday
Have owned my v3 se since launch. Print with it every day (big jobs and small) not one issue. Where are you hearing these bad reports?

Was looking at videos comparing the S1 vs V3. And it looks like the S1 is of better build quality? And the main advantage the V3 has is faster printing speeds, while the S1 allows a larger Z axis print. Seems like the S1 is better if you don't mind slower speeds, but want better build, bigger screen, dual Z axis motors? Someone care to chime in?
The S1 does not have automatic Z offset, it must be done manually and sometimes often. The SE also has linear rails on the bed which the S1 lacks. Auto Z offset and much faster prints out of the box all while maintaining the quality of print, far outweighs any other difference between the machines imho.

There were issues but they were resolved immediately. Some of the first released models had bent (bed) subframes which interfered with the automatic bed leveling. Many of those also had 3d printed part cooling fan shrouds which were replaced with injection molded parts.

They call this the ender because it has so many issues it ends your interest in 3D printing

This is a pretty slick deal and it shows how affordable 3D printing has advanced. I got an Ender 3 Pro for $100 on a MicroCenter SlickDeal a few years ago and that was an insane deal at the time that has been well worth it. If I wanted to upgrade my E3 Pro to match this, the upgrade kits would total at least $50 more than this costs and would require a lot of labor and tweaking.

That said though, the V3 SE for $20 more is probably worth it for most people. You get auto Z offset calibration and linear rails on the Y axis. For the nerds that want to tweak and get the most out of the hardware though, the S1 supports Klipper and it's not clear that support is there yet for the V3 SE, even Creality's Sonic Pad does not claim support for this printer. Klipper with input shaping and pressure advance tuning will get you better results faster if you are willing to put in the work.

A YouTube made a video about his issues and he said he also owns a V2
But he was trying to do something specific like print a guitar pick with a logo on it and the side that os fade down on the bed was the logo side and the first layer was not perfect.
I also have seen a few comments from people in positive unboxing setup and review videos comment sections that say they had problems.
Some of the comments said there is a whole subreddit dedicated to the issues but I haven't explored that yet
I am just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

The Sonic Pad supports the V3 SE as of the October update:

The cheaper Nebula Pad (used on the KE) also supports the V3 SE.
