Thanks. I agree. Cards look underwhelming compared to the box. Was about to pull the trigger but I'll pass on this one.

How are these not plastic at this price point? I don't ever want to go back to using cardstock. My decade-old plastic decks look and feel as good as the day I bought them. I would like to get some more plastic decks for other games and for my kids.

Thanks for that, super disappointed by the dismal looking colors. Was hoping for transparent or foil accents, instead a weak palette with low contrast.

I'd jump on this if the cards were foil too.

Just wanted to reiterate what people are saying about the look of the cards. I kinda went crazy on the Walgreens deal posted a few months back and ended buying a bunch of bicycle decks ranging from roughly $4 to $6 per. I think I ended up with 15 new decks. Anyway, these and the Stargazer ones are horrible. The thing I hate, that have in common, is the black background. Terrible for looking at Spades and Clubs since they have to adjust on those. This is definitely not a deal; I'd look to see if your local Walgreens still have some on closeout.

Believe these cards are intended primarily for collectors rather than actual playing. Saying that, there is a world of difference in handling between cheap and quality cards. Also, there are specialty cards (i.e., Copag 310, Monarch, etc.) made specifically for performing card tricks, called cardistry. If you play cards regularly and prefer cardstock over plastic, check out your local Sams Club for 12 packs of standard Bicycle decks for less that $21 ($22 @ Amazon). If you want one of the very best, get Bee No 92 "Club Special" that are the standard for casinos which can be found for around $4/deck or $40/dz (or less if casino logo).

The only way I feel comfortable playing with these is to put on my best 1900s goggles, a sharp velvet vest, stovepipe hat, herringbone pants and of course, a trench coat

Also a little underwhelmed after I opened these.

Remember if you have an Ollie's nearby, they have been selling some different Bicycle sets for super cheap.
