Some details I read about Staples' new reward program (1 recycled cartridge = 50 cents)

Earn 1pt on every $1 spent (excluding gift cards, taxes, LQO)
Earn "starting at" 100pt for ink cartridges (still limited per month to something)
Associates actually get earned rewards now at the same rate plus we get 400pts for ink recycling
Points don't expire as long as you shop at staples within 18 months to stay active
You can earn bonus double points on select categories (tech items, ink and toner, P&M, chairs, etc) and you can pick up to 3 of them
App is going to have other limited time bonus offers that can be activated
Points can be redeemed at register at any whole dollar amount as long as the customer asks. (You have to first enable it on the main screen but go to the add tenders screen to see the available amount and add it)
Points are refunded when returning an item paid partially or in full with points
It has nothing to do with recycling under old program.
Staples ' programmer simply doesn't know how to write a simple loop. They missed 1
Considering that no one else is complaining about missing credit for 1 ink cartridge when recycling under the new rewards program, I suspect that something else is factoring into this equation besides bad program code which would be experienced by everyone. I don't know what that is but I am guessing based on my personal experience that recycling twice in February under the old program and the new program is causing the missing credit for 1 ink cartridge. My receipt clearly showed 20 ink recycled but credit was only given credit for 19 in the new rewards program. I guess we will know March 1st when I recycle 20 inks again and see if credit is given for 20 or 19.

People don't complain because they don't even notice it. it's only a difference of 100 or 200 points.
How can recycling more = 1 cartridge less? It doesn't even make remote sense.
It still shows only 10. I think I'm going to just ask for a refund.
So, after 2+ months of bothering them weekly via chats, they've finally upgraded my account to Plus and shows 20 inks recycling now. I offered to take the refund but they didn't take and just keep escalating to actually upgraded me. Thank goodness!
Once the changeover to the new rewards program started I checked my account and it said I could recycle up to 30 inks per month, which I did for March and April - went in today and recycled 30, account showed credit for only 15, and now under my account it says my limit is 15 per month? WTF? Anyone else see their limit change like that?

Did you already recycle under the old program? I suspect that you did and the system is recognizing that as 1 ink recycled.
Happened to me as well. Waiting to see what happens.
