You'll appreciate the extra power and no need to constantly switch batteries for longer jobs.
Excellent sander. The integrated vacuum is great for a quick sand and if you attach it to a shop vac it really reduces the dust.

The price is reasonable but not exactly slick. I bought mine from HD just over a year ago for about $40. Ace Hardware gives a good price with one of their many coupons.

Pay attention to the placement of the sanding disc. If it slips you can wear away the pad on the sander - which is replaceable for about $10.
Also you'll want to be connected to a shop vac for most sanding anyways so the cord is the least of your concerns.

Just received my Bosch Sander today. I have been using my dewalt sander for the last 3 years throughout multiple large (18 x 25 ft pergola) and small project. I feel very underwhelmed with the performance of this sander, it is weak at max speed of 6 compared to my dewalt speed of 4-5. However, I have to give the credit to this Bosch for very smooth to use (prolly due to its weak montor), and the built-in dust collector, I am struggle to see dust kick out by this Bosch compared to suffocating level of dust kick off by the Dewalt. I have to hook up the Dewalt sander to a shop vac to keep dust level under control.

I did a simple test with drawing a line with sharpie on a piece of wood. The dewalt remove the line faster using a 100 grit compared to this bosch using 80 grit.

I am very conflicting on the thought of whether I should keep this sander. I want multiple sander to avoid repeated peeling of sandpapers and damaging the backing. If I decide to keep this, I may keep it for higher grit sanding such as 120-150 and using the dewalt for fast material removal.

As someone who is not a pro but who is in the middle of diy-ing the refinishing of a 100-year old hardwood floor (in part using this sander) a handheld random orbital sander is not the right tool for that job. It will take far too long. This sander is capable of giving a very nice finish but it is slow. You want a belt sander. You should also try a scraper first and even a chemical paint stripper if it is proving difficult.

As for this tool itself, it has a pretty weak motor as noted by some others, but it is capable of doing a nice job, just slowly. It does have a nice dust collection system. It did burn out on me after a week of heavy use, possibly because I did not change the dust filter after it got clogged up. It is running at about 1/3 of its original power and sparks like crazy internally. Not something I want in a room with sawdust flying around. I replaced it with a dewalt model from Home Depot that was $30 more but is somewhat more powerful and seems to do a slightly better job.

Hope does this compare with DeWalt? I am in the market to buy a sander. TIA
I just received this sander today. Way weaker than the dewalt, but alot smoother and the built in dust collector is superior. I would not use this sander for lower grit sanding such as 60-80. If you already have a shop vac, the dewalt maybe worth it. But if no shop vac and you dont mind additional time, this may be a very good choice; the built in dust collector is so good. The dust from my dewalt sander is a nightmare to deal with before i have a shop vac.

I have one bought on a previous Amazon deal and it works great for that kind of thing. Great performance and excellent quality.

Could I use this on 3D prints after spraying some primer on there?
